1. The Story Behind “Cat Garden Shelter”
Founded in April 2019, Cat Garden Shelter (Vườn Mèo Lang Thang) was born from the compassion and dedication of two young founders — Dương Trúc Lâm 그리고 Ngô Đình Vân Khanh, a couple whose nights are often spent driving across the city to rescue stray or injured cats based on rescue calls from Facebook.
Over the past years, the couple has rescued more than 600 abandoned cats, and currently cares for over 100 cats still waiting for their forever homes. Despite the limited space, they rent a three-story house of over 120 square meters, ensuring every cat has a safe, clean, and playful environment.
Each month, they receive between 50–60 rescue messages, and the total monthly cost for rent, food, and medical treatment reaches 50–60 million VND — of which about 80% comes from community donations, while the remaining 20% is covered by the couple themselves.
“Watching a frail, starving cat slowly recover, gain weight, and finally find a loving home — it’s a magical feeling,” shared Khanh.
Their love goes beyond care — they name each cat affectionately, inspired by favorite dishes or fruits: “phá lấu,” “bột lọc,” “cam,” “me,” and many more — each name a reminder of warmth and humor in their journey.
Today, Cat Garden Shelter is expanding to a 1,500-square-meter sanctuary in Lâm Đồng, providing a healthier and more natural space for their growing feline family. The shelter’s mission remains unchanged — to ensure no cat is left behind in the city.
2. Cat Garden Shelter at InterPetFest & MallPetFest Premium
Cat Garden Shelter was one of the official rescue organizations supported by the InterPetFest Fund during MallPetFest Premium 2025 — a special charity program co-hosted by MB Team & InterPetFest and sponsored by MSD 동물 건강.
