About Dogathon 2025

Chief Happiness Officer (C.H.O) and their human counterparts tackle either a 3 km or a 5 km fun run/walk courses which are lined with water stations along the way. Paw-children and their paw parents will have their own race BIBs. Top overall finishers in each category will receive podium prizes from the organizer and sponsors. More than just a fun-filled day with your furry friends, the event also benefits local animal shelters and animal welfare organizations (to be announced).

FAQs

What is the age limit to attend a dogathon race?

We welcome runners at all ages.

Children under 5 can have an option to join InterPetFest free of charge, therefore there is no race-kit provided and no right to compete for race prizes, unless race ticket is purchased. Children under 5 must be accompanied by a parent/a relative adult during the whole race.

We encourage children under 12 to be accompanied by a parent/a relative adult during the whole race, and attend under their own risks.

How many dogs and humans can join up a team to race?

2 is the minimum members, and  3 is the maximum members in your race team. You can have a choice of 1 human + 1 dog, or 1 human + 2 dogs, or 2 humans + 1 dog. Each member in a team has a BIB, and each team has one BIB number.  

How do I qualify as the winner of InterPetFest Dogathon?
  • You have the best runners’ finish time 
  • Your team with at least 1 dog and 1 human arrive at the finish line together (not being separated more than 1 meter) 
  • Your dog has to walk/run the whole race distance 
  • BIB number on you and on your dog are the same number 
  • Your dog has a vaccination certificate that has not expired. 
  • Not violate the event regulations 
  • Not being rejected by the organizer. The Organizer reserves all rights to decide the winner.
How can I register to participate?

To register for the Dogathon race, please visit our official website. Follow the instructions to complete the online registration form. Ensure that all required information is accurately filled out, read through race regulations, and submit the registration fee as instructed.

Can I register as a group?

Yes, you can register as a group of many race teams. Please select the option “Group Registration” during the registration process and provide the necessary details for all the teams. 

Note: 2 is the minimum members, and  3 is the maximum members in your race team. You can have a choice of 1 human + 1 dog, or 1 human + 2 dogs, or 2 humans + 1 dog. 

After successfully registering, if I cannot participate, can I transfer that race slot to someone else?

Yes and No

  • Yes:

Transferring of BIBs is accepted 1.5 months before the race date and is only allowed to be transferred one time. Please contact the organizer for this case. When the transferred BIB is approved by the organizer, the new runner can compete to win the race

  • No:

Unauthorized transfers: One and a half months before the race date, if you decide to withdraw from the race, the Organizer is not able to support changing your registration information to another person. Any swapping, selling, gifting, or transferring of BIBs to another person is considered as a violation of the race regulations to be the race winner

If I have successfully registered but cannot participate, will the organizers refund my payment?

No, registration fees are non-refundable. You can transfer your BIB to another person as explained above

Can my dog without a vaccination certificate participate?

No, dogs must have a valid vaccination certificate to participate in the race. This is to ensure the health and safety of all participants and their dogs. Please make sure to bring the necessary vaccination document on the day of the event.

What are the hygiene regulations during your race?
  • Participants with dogs must bring biodegradable dog waste bags and are responsible for picking up dog waste immediately after the dog has discharged it to ensure environmental sanitation and track cleanliness.
  • Please follow all posted signs and instructions provided by our staff.
Are there Food-Drink supporting stations during the race?

Yes, there will be food and drink stations along the race course at designated points. These stations will provide water and refreshments for both participants and their dogs. Ensure you hydrate adequately before and during the race.

Where and when can I collect my race BIB?

Race BIBs can be collected at the registration desk, which will be open during the following times:

  • Date: 21.02.2025 – Time: 3:00PM – 7:00PM (GMT+7)
  • Date: 22.02.2025 – Time: 9:30AM – 3:00PM (GMT+7)
  • At: International Pet Festival Vietnam

Is there a storage area at the event?

Yes, there is a storage area where you can leave your belongings. The storage tags will match your bib number. However, please note that the organizers are not responsible for any lost items.

At the InterPetFest Dogathon, the bib serves as an essential identifier for both the runner and their pet. Each runner is assigned a square bib, while their furry companion sports a round bib, ensuring easy identification throughout the event. The bibs are color-coded and numbered based on the distance and pet group chosen, with numbers starting from 2001 for participants in the 2km run and from 4001 for those in the 4km category. This unique dual-bib system not only enhances the fun of the event but also allows organizers to track both human and dog efficiently. The bibs, which are a symbol of teamwork between runners and their pets, also ensure that race times and placements are accurately recorded for each pair.

EACH DOG WILL RECEIVE A BANDANA ACCORDING TO ITS SIZE

At the InterPetFest Dogathon, every participating pet will receive a special-designed race bandana, adding a fun and stylish touch to their race day experience. Just like the runners’ t-shirts, the bandana will feature the event’s logos, slogan, with the event’s colors, creating a sense of unity between pets and their owners. Made from soft, lightweight fabric, the bandana is designed to ensure comfort for pets, allowing them to move freely and stay cool during the race. The bandana is where the dog round BIB can be sticked on. After the event, the bandana becomes a treasured keepsake, a symbol of the shared accomplishment and the special bond between the runner and their furry friend. It’s a lasting reminder of the joyful experience of this amazing event.

RACE BACKPACK

At the InterPetFest Dogathon, every team will receive a special-designed  backpack, adding a convenient and comfy touch to their race day experience. The backpack will feature the event’s logos, slogan, with the event’s colors. Made from soft, lightweight, and light water resistance, the backpack is designed with a separate shoe compartment. The backpack is essential for carrying all your gear and supplies so you can have free-hand taking care of your pet and taking nice pictures. After the event, the backpack becomes a treasured keepsake which you can use everyday. It’s a lasting reminder of the joyful experience of this amazing event.
